danielle e benjamin is an afro-indigenous astro-herbalist, energetic bodyworker, writer, medium, mother, creator of and created by Temple of Earth Apothecary and Evolutionary Medicine, in her hometown on Huichin Ohlone land in Oakland, CA.
Temple of Earth Apothecary (TEA) is a co-operatively run healing space, learning space, herb shop and medicine garden, selling locally grown bulk herbs, house-made herbal preparations and ritual goods. Individual healing consults, readings and bodywork are available at Temple of Earth, as well as apprenticeship and workshops in ancestral herbalism and Indigenous healing teachings. Temple of Earth celebrates and centers Black, Afro-Indigenous, Native land and plant stewardship, teachers, practitioners and medicine folk, specifically concentrating Afro-diasporic healing and our medicine ways. Coming to Berkeley this summer!
Our goal is to move into 1757 Alcatraz Avenue On Lisjan Ohlone land in South Berkeley on July 1, 2022 and to open the Temple doors on August 1.
$16,300 will facilitate the build-out of the space and cover all opening expenses, including one month's payroll.
$75,000 will fund 6 months of operating expenses.
$160,000 will take care of our first year of operating expenses, including payroll, overhead and product.
